Originally started in 1959 by Bill Blain, Blain Construction and built single family homes and commercial projects for the next 30 years, at which time his two sons took over the business and continued his legacy. However as a result of the real estate crash in the late 2000’s, Blain Companies started remodeling and flipping homes in order to survive the market downturn that put so many other builders out of business.
Today Blain Companies is a third generation construction/remodel contractor that has put quality ahead of quantity. Since opening this additional avenue we have found that it’s another great way to serve our community. So with all of these many years of experience, there is no doubt this great group of construction specialists, under the direction of Steve Payton, can turn your dreams to reality
If you’ve been thinking of giving someone the opportunity to update your home, please come and see us in the Exhibit Hall on Fifth Avenue (#358), and let our 60 years of serving our community speak for itself!

New this year, Hudson River Inlay, a small artist guild led by main designer, Jeffrey Nelson, debuts at Springfest. Displaying home décor pieces including wood inlay furnishings, tables, mirrors, unique works of art, and their designs are nature-orientated, with themes of wildlife, marine, flower, parks, etc.
Once the design is drawn and tweaked to a fine line graphic drawing, wood combinations (also using stones, shells, and minerals) are selected. Using a carbon laser, the veneers and other materials are cut individually and adhered to a MDF board. The pieces are then sanded to a smooth finish and pressed to give even pressure. The pieces are finished with an acrylic urethane (lacquer) and a semi-gloss finish.
Explaining the process and philosophy behind each creation is what they enjoy most when interacting with their customers, so they primarily direct sell at art and home and garden shows. So be sure to see what will enhance your home décor. They are located in Exhibit Hall-East (#506-507).
Solar solutions, made simple!
Since 1985, Highlands Energy has been focused on providing clean energy solutions to homes, businesses and the community. During 2016, they launched their solar division to continue and strengthen the company’s dedication to building a cleaner infrastructure in the Central Valley.
Recently solar veterans, Jeff and Dave Brown, joined their dedicated team. Together the Brown brothers have more than 65 years of solar experience in the Central Valley – going back all the way to working alongside their parents at Solahart, the family’s solar company, on Mooney Blvd in Visalia.
If you are thinking now is the time to go solar, talk with the Brown brothers. They can tell you about recent changes to your energy bill and what you can expect to see over the next few years. And if you haven’t heard the buzz about batteries, they can give you the overview. Not sure what Solar NEM 2.0 and Time of Use Plans are? No problem. They can walk you through those, too!
Looking to save money? Learn about the 30% Federal Solar tax credit and how it can make your solar dreams attainable. Giving our customers financial freedom from high electricity bills — and to reinvest it in to the community — is just another reason they love what they do.
Visit the Highlands Energy Solar Team in the East Lobby (#157) for a free, no-obligation quote – or better yet attend one of Jeff’s daily seminars to get all the details about how solar solutions can help you save money, save energy, and possibly help save the planet!
